eHealth development requires a fundamental rethinking, on the basis of a patient-centred strategy, defining objectives and expected impacts and deployed following validated clinical evidence.

    The right to protection of personal data is explicitly recognised by EU law. It is based on the principle that the use of personal data shall be subject to the consent of the person concerned.
