Abstract

Among several factors, satisfied users have a strong impact on a successful implementation and operation of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. The software usability can contribute significantly to reduce the necessary end user trainings and to raise the productivity and satisfaction of users. Despite the awareness of the impact of the usability on the productivity of users there still exists a lack of usability testing concerning ERP systems from software providers and companies as customers. Gathered information of independent evaluations of the usability of ERP systems can support the decision for or against certain providers. This article gives some insight on how to measure usability from the end users’ perspective, and also demonstrates first results conducted by a study involving ERP system customers.
