Abstract
Coding and billing for parathyroid services can be challenging for physicians, who are not traditionally trained in healthcare policy or practice or management infrastructure. In addition, advances in diagnostic and surgical techniques often outpace changes in coding and billing infrastructure. The goal of this chapter is to assist the healthcare professional by providing an easy-to-understand reference for common questions related to coding and billing for in-office and operative parathyroid diagnoses/procedures.
