Glavsevmorput – is the Chief Directorate of the Northern Sea Route and a Soviet government organization in charge of the naval Northern Sea Route, established in 1932. In 1971 G. was replaced by the Northern Sea Route Administration, Ministry of the Navy of the USSR, and in 1992 was assigned to the Maritime Transport Department of the Russian Federation.
