Abstract

This article provides an estimate the system of older adult education in the Russian Federation with the focus on the role of regional non-governmental organisations and international educational projects. The key characteristics and players reviewed show the big organisational and human potential, as well as positive feed-back from the target group. At the same time, implementing different forms of educational practices within organisations face huge challenges with regard to the legislation, information exchange, and level of professionalism and competencies of educators. Hence, the issue of quality education older adults remains open.
