Abstract

This chapter focuses on two fundamental aspects of the thin film growth of nanostructured materials: shape and pore evolution as a consequence of the growth process inside nanostructured materials, and the impact that high surface area materials have on the reactive transport of species at the reactor scale. Lagrangian and Eulerian approaches to surface evolution and strategies used to bridge the coating of nanostructured materials with the reactive transport of species at the reactor scale are introduced.
