Abstract
The term “prolapse” is used when the internal genitalia have lost their original position within the body and protrude along the vertical axis. It is not a disorder which appears from one moment to the other but a continuous development which may take several years. Prolapse usually starts in the second part of life – it is a problem associated with aging.
