Definition

The concept of narcissistic leadership connects narcissism and approaches to leadership in organizations. Leadership concerns an intentional social influence process with the purpose of driving goal-directed action and interpersonal relationships in organizations (Yukl 2012). Narcissism denotes relatively stable interindividual differences in grandiose views of the self, low empathy and concern for others in interpersonal relationships, and self-regulatory strategies applied to maintain inflated self-views (Campbell et al. 2011).
