Zusammenfassung
Scham ist ein universelles, selbstbewusstes Gefühl, das Menschen dazu bringt, sich schlecht zu fühlen. Wenn wir diese Emotion nicht bewusst wahrnehmen, wirkt sie toxisch und behindert eine Person in ihrer Funktionsfähigkeit und daran, im Hier und Jetzt zu leben. Obwohl sie als selbstzerstörerische Emotion gilt, kann sie unser Leben bereichern, wenn wir mit ihr umzugehen wissen. Daher ist es wichtig, sich aus der Negativbewertungsschleife der Scham zu befreien. In diesem Kapitel werden verschiedene Perspektiven zum Thema Scham erläutert und wirksame Strategien für den Umgang mit Scham vorgestellt, die sowohl auf der Positiven Psychologie als auch auf der Existenziellen Perspektive basieren. Darüber hinaus erörtert das Kapitel, wie die Vierte Industrielle Revolution das Antlitz der Scham verändert hat, was die Idee eröffnet, sie durch die digitalen Plattformen in etwas Positives zu verwandeln. So kann das Individuum im Umgang mit Scham unterstützt werden, emotionaler Schaden kann zu verhindert und ein besseres prosoziales Leben in dieser digitalen Welt gefördert werden.
