Abstract
Designed as a procedure oriented to the relief of those coping with loss and bereavement, psychological debriefing has been used as an important resource in emergency care. However, in the clinical field its usefulness is still questioned. This chapter questions the appropriateness of the practice of psychological debriefing after the death of a loved one victim of COVID-19, by examining the fundamentals of clinical psychology and the victimological practice of two major approaches: the American and the French. In addition, the outcomes of 10 cases are proposed, generating new reflections that highlight the importance of the natural elaborations of grief, susceptible of transcending the aforementioned currents, highlighting concrete acts of remembrance and farewell in the current global context of pandemic and confinement.
