Abstract
The Transitional Stress and Adjustment (TSA) model is detailed, and graphic representations of its components are outlined. The dual relationship between the generic components of the process of adjustment to life transitions and the environment’s role in enabling the newcomers address, undergo, or complete their relatedness to each one of the components is highlighted. The TSA model is a dialectical model, in which iterations between the various components are possible and continue as long as the person is in search for clarity with reference to each one of the components. Accordingly, the TSA model argues that the process of a person’s maladjustment to a transition can be evoked at any moment and due to lack of clarity regarding each one of the components.
