About this book

This book collects selected peer reviewed papers on the topics of Nonlinear Analysis, Functional Analysis, (Korovkin-Type) Approximation Theory, and Partial Differential Equations. The aim of the volume is, in fact, to promote the connection among those different fields in Mathematical Analysis. The book celebrates Francesco Altomare, on the occasion of his 70th anniversary.

About the editors

Anna Maria Candela Anna Maria Candela is Full Professor in Mathematical Analysis, member of the Accademia Pugliese delle Scienze (Apulian Academy of Sciences) and, currently, Vice Rector (Pro Rettore Vicario) of Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro (Bari, Italy). Her fields of expertise are Variational and Topological Methods applied to the study of Nonlinear Differential Equations, in particular to geodesics and trajectories in semi-Riemannian manifolds and to quasilinear elliptic problems both in bounded and unbounded domains.

Mirella Cappelletti Montano Mirella Cappelletti Montano obtained a Ph.D. in Mathematics at Università degli Studi di Bari Aldo Moro (Bari, Italy) in 2004. Currently, she is associate professor in Mathematical Analysis at the same university. Her fields of expertise are Korovkin-Type Approximation Theory, Functional Analysis, Operator Theory, Generation and Approximation of Positive Semigroupsand Models in Population Dynamics.

Elisabetta Mangino Elisabetta Mangino is professor in Mathematical Analysis at the Università del Salento (Lecce, Italy).   She has been interested in various topics in Functional Analysis, namely Locally Convex Spaces, Linear Chaos, Semigroups Theory and Approximation Theory. Currently, her research focuses on linear elliptic-parabolic systems of equations with unbounded coefficients or degenerate diffusion part.
