Abstract
South Korea built a quarantine concept (K-quarantine) and implemented a tracking system utilizing QR codes to limit the spread of COVID-19. However, despite South Korea’s early success in 2020, the government was accused of not obtaining enough vaccines, resulting in one of the slowest immunization programs. As a result, South Korea’s international media assessment went from favorable to negative. With greater supply of vaccines and public support, South Korea’s immunization program swiftly achieved herd immunity, outpacing the United States and other early adopters. While Koreans expected to return to normal life, the battle with COVID-19 is not yet over, due to the new COVID variants.
