  • Capuchin monkeys: Medium-size neotropical primates, widely distributed across Central and South America, characterized by high brain/body size ratios, which are known for their cognitive skills, elaborate manipulative abilities, and social complexity (Fragaszy et al., 2004). They comprise two genera, Sapajus or robust capuchins and Cebus or gracile capuchins (Lynch Alfaro et al., 2012).

  • Aggression: A social interaction in which one individual inflicts actual or potential harm or damage to another individual. Aggressive behaviors can consist in threatening, chasing, lunging, growling, snarling, snapping, and/or biting (Fraser & Rushen, 1987). It can be useful to defend territories, keep mating opportunities, and/or obtain resources (Bernstein & Gordon, 1974).
