Abstract
Extruded post-consumer PP (PCPP)/Tunisian clay blends were used to elaborate monofilament yarns using melt spinning method.
The scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images of cross section of filaments clearly showed a well dispersed system. We deduced from the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) tests that the addition of clay increases the crystallization temperature (Tc) as compared to the raw PCPP filaments.
The stress-strain and bending analysis showed that the mechanical behaviors of the PCPP filaments were enhanced by the addition of clay fillers.
