Abstract
This chapter is an overview of potential lifelong neurobiological, bio-behavioral, and other outcomes after ACEs and other trauma. Topics covered include epigenetic age acceleration, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), high-risk behaviors, lack of regard for self and others, self-harm, food and substance use and addiction, mental and physical health outcomes, obesity, diabetes and related conditions, risky sexual behavior and sexually transmitted diseases, other eating disorders, the impact of COVID-19 trauma on diet and weight, criminal behavior, antisocial personality disorder, and homelessness.
