Abstract
Pacemaker programming and interrogation is essential not only in the immediate post-implantation period, but also at regular follow-up visits throughout the life of the pacemaker. The implantation of a pacemaker follows a clinical event and it is incumbent upon the physician implanting the device to ensure that the device has met its clinical goals. Current pacemakers are endowed with a variety of features to help meet the aforementioned requirement. Hence, patients with pacemakers should be seen regularly and their pacemakers should be interrogated with in person or remotely, at least once every 3–12 months.
