Abstract
This chapter is about creating connections between violence of the past and violence of the present as perpetrated against indigenous peoples by interweaving narratives and understanding current genocidal practices. Depicted in this chapter are the genocides against Guatemalan-Mayas, Sentinelese Jarawa Islanders, Western Chinese Uighurs, Brazilian Amerindians, and, to a lesser extent, the genocides against indigenous peoples in Canada, the United States, and Australia. In general, I try to make sense of these genocides. For example, why do some human beings try to eliminate other groups of human beings in their entirety? What are the geneses of such mass murder? What are the consequences of such mass murder? And, how can such mass murder be prevented?
