Stories from the Deep Earth

Abstract

Studying the Earth can teach us to be humble, as scientists. There is less scope for the arrogance of some physicists that they are discovering the fundamentals, or the truth. Information about the past or the deep Earth is always incomplete, so it is harder to claim you know exactly what is going on. But even Newton and Einstein did not really know what is going on.
