Abstract
This chapter reviews mindfulness and acceptance practices, associated with acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), as preventative measures and interventions for burnout and trauma-related employment stress (TRES). An overview of well-being as it relates to stress in the helping professions is discussed. Specific mindfulness and acceptance techniques, including practical tools, are offered.
