Abstract
Some years ago, I had the opportunity to see a nice painting by Laurence S. Lowry dated 1949, entitled The football match. The painter, who lived in the United Kingdom at the beginning of the twentieth century, is famous for nice scenes from the north of the country, known at such a time for strong industrialisation.
