Abstract

The research in ergonomics and human factors is changing dramatically, due to the constant challenges of the technology and organizations. In line with those challenges, new research Centers in ergonomics appear, to give solutions and to propose new methodologies to study the implication of those changes in the Human safety, health and wellbeing and the performance of new systems. In this context, this paper discusses the research developed in the ergoUX Lab – Ergonomics and User Experience Laboratory, of the Faculty of Architecture of the University of Lisbon, has the main mission to create value in organizations to make people’s daily life more fun, healthy and safe. The research activity covers the traditional ergonomics, related with workplace design solutions, to usability and user experience studies and projects. In this context, we present some work developed in the following contexts: workplace and product design using digital computer models, emotional design, virtual reality, game and gamification.
