Abstract
Design and development of self-diplexing antenna for wireless communication application is proposed in this chapter. The proposed structure provides advantages in terms of compact size and better gain. Initially, a circular patch antenna is designed for 2.4 GHz of resonance frequency. Then, it is divided into two parts to realize the structure as a self-diplexing antenna. Rectangular and tilted slots are used to realize the antenna. The proposed antenna resonates at the two frequencies: 2.4 GHz and 4.3 GHz, respectively. The realized structure is in a dimension of 0.32λ × 0.56λ (where λ is the wavelength of the first resonance frequency). The proposed design is fabricated for the proof of concept. The measured result provides similar performance as the simulated ones.
