Abstract

Jordan is a middle-income country that provides high-quality health services on the national and regional levels. During the past few decades, Jordan witnessed an important health renaissance, during which it made great achievements in various health-related fields, despite the challenges.

Public health constitutes an essential component of the health-care system in Jordan. The delivery of public health services aims to improve the health status and quality of life of the population. This has been achieved by establishing a number of public health educational programs that aim to build the capacity of the workforce in the field of public health. Moreover, a considerable body of health research is carried out to come up with recommendations to improve public health practice in Jordan.
