Abstract
This chapter presents detailed anatomy as well as a muscle raising technique of latissimus dorsi flap. Due to anatomic similarities of latissimus dorsi muscle, the swine flap harvesting technique is almost identical to humans. The latissimus muscle is one of the initial flaps from which the novice microsurgeon can begin to practice flap harvesting skills. The relative ease of harvesting allows the use of the latissimus dorsi in various experiments with muscle flaps.
