Abstract

Replantation after amputations is an integral part of emergency reconstructive surgery. Replanting a limb is one of the complex procedures in surgery. When replanting a limb, it is essential not only to be able to perform good vascular anastomosis but also to master the surgery of peripheral nerves and the basics of traumatology. There are numerous studies describing extremity replantation on animal models. The rodent’s model of extremity replantation is perfectly suitable to train extremity replantation because of the anatomic presentation of hindlimb and external diameter of femoral vessels analogous to human finger arteries.
