Abstract

Disorders of hypopigmentation (DOH) are a group of cutaneous conditions that cause loss of skin pigment. DOH can occur in any skin type but are more apparent in skin of color (SOC) because of the stark contrast between normal skin and depigmented or hypopigmented skin. Although not life threatening, DOH can be psychologically devastating in afflicted individuals.
