Abstract
The majority of cancer patients in Africa are diagnosed at late stages of the disease. This is due to a low level of cancer awareness as well as limited specialized care which is often also inaccessible and unaffordable. In 2012, the mortality/incidence ratio for malignant conditions was 72% in Africa as compared to 44% in Europe.
