Abstract
Molybdenum is absorbed in low amounts by plants. In some crops, Mo contents in seeds meet the plant’s requirements. It is a nutrient that performs biological functions involved with N. Therefore, it ensures a high crop productivity. In this chapter, we will discuss initially (i) basic aspects of Mo in the soil; (ii) Mo uptake, transport, and redistribution; (iii) Mo metabolism; (iv) nutritional requirements for Mo in crops; (v) Mo extraction, export, and accumulation by the main crops; (vi) Mo deficiency and toxicity symptoms.
