Abstract
This chapter briefly revisits the main themes of the book and points to some future issues. Food is a deeply political and highly gendered subject and women’s relationship with it is complex and ambivalent. The role of women in food production and preparation has been largely unacknowledged. The increasing globalisation of food systems further marginalises women, yet the traditional food knowledge of women is crucial to preserving genetic and culinary diversity. Recent pandemics have highlighted the problems of the globalised food system and the issue of food entitlement is more urgent than ever.
