Questions and Answers in Pain Medicine

Abstract

Grouped together due to their correlation with chronic widespread pain, fibromyalgia and myofascial pain remain difficult pain disorders to both identify and treat. The diagnostic process has undergone recent progression due to improved understanding of the underlying disease processes. Both diagnoses can cause significant pain and disability and are often misunderstood by many providers who frequently rely on pain providers for accurate diagnosis and guidance in treatment.
