Abstract

Intraoperative imaging is a cornerstone of interventional vascular procedures and is becoming increasingly important in functional neurosurgery and tumor excision surgery. Dynamic intraoperative imaging is particularly useful for vascular procedures, enabling a real-time delineation of vascular channels and blood flow characteristics. Because of the lack of tissue resolution in the majority of dynamic intraoperative vascular imaging techniques, a thorough knowledge of anatomy is essential. Having a preexisting MRI or CT for clinic-radiologic correlation is helpful.
