Abstract

Dynamical means moving and changing, active, so a dynamical system is an actively changing system of particles, points, or sets. Before turning to examples, we recall the origins of the subject, namely statistical mechanics. This subject came into existence because of the complexities of the mechanical laws in a system with many particles, such as gas.
