Updating Ontology Alignment on the Instance Level Based on Ontology Evolution

Abstract

This paper is devoted to investigating if it is possible to update stale alignments, based solely on the analysis of changes introduced to ontologies participating in the alignment. A change-significance function will be presented, which can be used to indicate whether or not the alignment revalidation is potentially required. Next, an algorithm for revalidation of existing mappings will be proposed. Due to the limited space of this paper, only the instance level will be considered.
