Abstract

Dossinia is a monospecific genus endemic to Borneo. A terrestrial herb with basal, dark-green or brownish leaves decorated with pink or golden nerves and transverse reticulations, Dossinia is a jewel orchid which is admired for its foliage. Inflorescence is erect, succulent, brown, covered with fine white hair and several flowered. Flowers are small, brown and white, also hirsute (Fig. 48.1).
