Abstract

A 59-year-old female presented for preoperative optimization prior to laparoscopic cholecystectomy for subacute cholecystitis. Six weeks before this, she had been diagnosed with gallstone pancreatitis. An endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography with sphincterotomy was performed at this time after which the patient reported visual disturbances and was noted to have fluctuating confusion. Brain imaging subsequently demonstrated a small left occipital infarct. The patient was thereafter commenced on ramipril, aspirin, and rosuvastatin.
