Abstract
The discussion relates to Elettaria and its commercial uses. Elettaria is the Sri Lankan wild cardamom, morphologically similar to true cardamom, but a more robust plant bearing erect panicles and much-elongated fruits (1–5 cm). Some controversy continues to exist regarding the taxonomic status of the species. The chapter discusses the various details of its cultivation and crop management aspects.
