Abstract

This chapter provides further empirical evidence on the relationship between contentment, affect and life satisfaction. The empirical research is based on micro-level data from many countries in the world. Findings force us to revise some theoretical models and beliefs which have been widely used to understand life satisfaction in the world. The chapter relies on empirical findings to raise new research questions.
