Abstract
Neuromuscular respiratory failure is the most common cause of death among patients with neuromuscular disease. The presentation is usually insidious, and early recognition, monitoring, testing, and treatment with noninvasive ventilation improve the quality of life and survival of these patients. Noninvasive ventilation with airway clearance therapy is considered standard practice for the management of neuromuscular respiratory weakness.
