Abstract
Regarding the emergence of conflicts, different causes of conflict often play a role. Moore (2014) notes five causes of conflict, which he attributes to a universal influence (Fig. 1). For each of these causes of conflict, he designs specific intervention options. Moore thus provides concrete indications as to which causes play a role in lived and everyday conflict situations, and which interventions can be effective. This model can be used especially for intercultural mediation, as the research results come from an international study that takes into account culture-specific topics gathered from 24 countries. What are the different causes and how can mediators address the causes and successfully intervene?
