Abstract
In astronomy, the term “horizon” derives from the Greek ὁρίζων κύκλος, “separating circle” (where ὁρίζων is from the verb ὁρίζω, “to divide”) and refers to the apparent line that separates earth from sky. The concept is strictly dependent from the observer’s vision and position, in relation to the “circle” that surrounds him.
