Abstract

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a common service backed up by sensors and actuators with the environment around us. IoT is expanding itself to different areas like Gartner, Inc. said that the IoT will include 26 billion units installed by 2020. We focused IR sensor to detect the heat and motion of people. We proposed a protocol that combines IR sensors and chairs to determine which people are sitting in their seats. We implemented it using the Arduino board, IR sensor and Bluetooth. We also implemented the smartphone app that administrator or clients check the result and contact with each other through it.
