Abstract
ICT tools and technologies are emerging as important components of various state-of-the-art business models. Tourism industry finds massive applications of these technologies in the promotion, management, planning, and execution of tourism business. The recent studies have shown that more and more tourists around the world use social applications, tourism applications, emails, and websites to decide and plan for a particular tourism destination. This work explores the role of ICT tools and technologies in the tourism industry of Nepal. The study employs exploratory method with descriptive and inferential statistics to explore the ICT tools and digital technologies used by tourist and study the role these technologies played in their course of journey. The study comprise of close-end questions and open-ended questions that are surveyed for inbound tourist from ten different countries. The samples are decided based on the ten countries with most frequent travellers to Nepal. A convenience method with online survey is used to collect data. The work is important as it provides immense knowledge about the existing ICT tools and technologies and their usage by the inbound tourist for various tourism activities in Nepal. It will be helpful for planning digital implementation in Nepal Tourism Industry.
