Abstract
During the first years of this century ART became available in many resource-poor countries like Uganda. Politicians, policymakers, scientists and activists were debating rights, costs and the feasibility of treating people in resource-poor countries with ART. The drugs came closer while Kate got more and more sick and her letters got longer. The chapter juxtaposes Kate’s letters with extracts from various media on developments in the availability of ART.
