Abstract

Allowable functional safety levels of railroad’s digital automation systems set by EN50129 standard, cannot ensure required safety of a train traffic, especially for high speed. This article proposes methods to define functional safety rules and to confirm their correctness at the initial set up pre-check and while operation phase. Proposed methods to verify hardware and software architecture, which includes special methods to estimate probability of critical failure plus functional safety test methods.
