Occupational Therapy in the Community

  • First Online:
Occupational Therapy for Older People

Abstract

This chapter highlights the role and key features of occupational therapy in the community. It describes some evidence-based interventions that occupational therapists can use in the community. These include individual or group programmes for healthy and frail elderly, people with dementia, and people with Parkinson’s disease. We conclude with a description of the construct and development of dementia friendly communities (DFC).
