Essential Radiology Review

Abstract

The field of radiology has a deeply rooted foundation in basic science, technology, engineering, and physics. The workhorse diagnostic imaging modalities of radiography, computed tomography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, fluoroscopy, and nuclear medicine are true testaments to the importance of these foundations in preventing, diagnosing, and treating disease. The following chapters serve to highlight key principles of each imaging modality that are important to provide high-value radiologic care for patients.
