Abstract
The author of this chapter, Zoltan Acs, is one of the people who has known David the longest and knows him well. Although they had very different backgrounds and took very different paths, their career arcs led them to meet and become colleagues in Berlin in the 80’s and they have been close friends ever since, with Acs even serving as the best man in David’s wedding. This essay tells their story.
