Abstract
Fractures of the lateral condyle in children are common and can have serious consequences. Fractures with more than 2 mm of displacement typically require operative treatment to restore the articular surface and avoid malunion; most displaced fractures require an open reduction and can be fixed with K-wires. Complications include nonunion, malunion, and late ulnar nerve palsy.
