Abstract

The article researches the effect of seed sowing period on the antioxidant protection of basil, grown under the conditions of a greenhouse with technical heating. There has been established that the content of malonic dialdehyde as the main “indicator of stress” significantly increased in the seeds, sown in February, and, as a response to stress, the antioxidant system of protection increased more intensively here, with the level of superoxide dismutase increasing by 76.1% compared to the seeds, sown in March.
